misfit.

am i the only one who has absolutely no
interest in
affection for
or
desire to own
DOGS?
i often feel like i am.
i don't even think i want a cat anymore. i loved my dear {beloved, handsome, adorable, sweet} tabby. but he was a part of the family since i was little. and while i sometimes i see a kitten and need to bring him {i could only have a he-kitty} home, i then think about the hair all over my house and i'm positive i could live without him.
sean says all kids need a dog. i disagree.
no pets for me, please.

I don't want pets either... but sadly agree that all kids have to have a dog. Ryan already knows he gets one on his 5th birthday

I eventually want an outside dog but the key word is OUTSIDE. I'll never have an indoor animal. And I don't really care about cats. So you're not too much of a misfit. Ü

I have to agree 100%. And if you remember, I was the one that grew up with animals. I'm totally fine without the hair, especially with babies.

I grew up without animals in my house (well my dad got a dog when i was in high school but that doesn't really count). I grew up just fine without - well maybe sean would disagree :).
So, in conclusion, I don't think you're a misfit (says the girl with a cat and dog)

My life would be totally incomplete without my puppy. I wouldn't want a dog that sheds- I'm with you on the hair thing. But Sparky is groomed once a month and never sheds.
In three years of having kids, they have caused more mess, chaos, and destruction than a lifetime of dogs ever has.

I used to not want dogs. I'm serious, I didn't want a thing to do with them. I hated them and thier jumping and licking and all that "dog" stuff. Then we got Marley and Oso... then a few years later Lucy, and I just can't imagine NOT wanting dogs. So I know how you feel. In order to stay feeling that way, don't let your 6 year old nephew tell (lie to) you that if you don't take them his dad is going to drown them in the river. 6 years olds can be so sneaky...

hair, licking, bad breath = no dogs for me!

I can't imagine not having a puppy dog. Yes the hair gets little annoying because my dog is a constant shedder, but she is totally worth having to vaccum a few extra times a week. But I love dogs, if we were talking about a cat, I probably wouldn't be so thrilled to have to do the extra work for them. So I can understand you not wanting to get a dog.

its ok you don't want pets like i don't want babies ;) i am pretty sure i am the bigger misfit....i think i missed the baby wanting gene in my dna or something.

I totally agree, I have no desire for pets because of the hair, and the fact that you have to take care of them and the heart ache when you do unintentionally become attached and they die.

Dogs are wonderful!! You really fall in love with them and they have such individual personalities. I would be so devastated without my dog!! She's my best buddy. A dog will love you unconditionally no matter what - they're just wonderful!!!

I am totally there with you! I hope to never have any pets of any kind. I am really just not an animal person! My parents had a dog while I was growing up...yuck! I can't stand all the hair, the barking/yapping, the destroying of the yard..I could go on and on! Don't do it!!

I'm COMPLETELY anti DOG, CAT, BIRD, GOLDFISH, HAMPSTER, GERBEL, you name it. Especially dogs and cats. I'll just make sure a neighbor has a dog or something and send the kids to them! Fortunatel, my husband feels exactly the same way I do :)

I love my animals. Having a puppy though is TONS of work, I would recommend getting a puppy totally trained professionaly right from the get go (if you ever go that route).

Never thought I would be a cat person but I absolutely love our cat, I absolutely hate her too ;) (But that's just a cat thing, they're so stuck up!) Wouldn't live without her though. Luckily Dave likes animals as much as me so we make it work.

Oh Tabby....I miss you so much! There's nothing better than petting a cat's soft fat belly. You can't pet a dog without getting licked in the face. Yuck!!!

Misfit? Possibly. But you're right. You really don't need to have a dog. Not when you have a sister who has dogs for children! :)

Cable would love his little cousin Serena to come play anytime! He promises not to get her covered in slobber or fur. In fact, I think I might be more worried about Cable getting covered in baby slobber!

We feel the same way. No pets for us (except maybe a kitty...that would have to stay outdoors). I grew up with an outdoor cat and she was the most purrr-fect pet! (hee hee hee, I couldn't resist) We could never have an indoor animal.
