miss you.

i spent about 10 minutes {no joke} trying to open a jar of tomato sauce last night. you usually help in those situations. on the plus side... i ate spaghetti last night! you hate spaghetti, so i never make it.

i slept with 5 lights on last night.

i read a funny email this morning and turned to tell you about it... and then i laughed because you weren't there.

there is a mosquito flying free somewhere in our house because it's your job to kill them.

lonely + jealous.

Sean left this morning for Europe... and won't be home until the 14th! All of the boys in his family (except for Josh... who has to be responsible and go to school...) are headed to Russia and Italy for some manly bonding. Seth has been in Russia for the past 5 months with a group teaching English. The rest of the boys will meet him there and he will be their tour guide for a couple of days. After that, they are flying to Italy to see everything I've ever wanted to see in Europe :) David served his mission there and has planned an awesome tour of the country. They will be visiting the colloseum, pompeii, ponte vecchio, the sistine chapel, michaelangelo's david, the trevi fountain, pisa, florence, rome, venice... just everything and everywhere that would be amazing to see in Italy. And Dave knows all the awesome, less touristy spots to visit. Lucky ducks! I will be at work... and at home... pooooor me. :) In all seriousness, I am SO excited for Sean and the awesome memories he'll have from this trip. I'm not TOO jealous. I just expect a sweet gift from Italy AND a trip back there someday since Sean will be an expert :)

good weekend.

1. sean took me to st. george for my birthday weekend.
2. dusk is the best time of day there. it was sooo nice and sooo beautiful.
3. jaimie & josh drove up from vegas to hang out with us! it was fun to see them. we all went to fiesta fun and played some mini-golf. i have an awesome farmer's tan to show for it.
4. sean took me to a romantic dinner and a movie on saturday night... my last birthday present :)
5. the crystal inn was practically empty the first night we were there, so we pretty much had the pool to ourselves.
6. we saw prince caspian and i liked it a lot!
7. we went to the book store and i bought a wrinkle in time. i've been enjoying it very much and plan to read the rest of the quintet. how did i not read these when i was a kid? they're so fun!
8. we played the six degrees of kevin bacon game on the drive down. we spent like 25 minutes trying to get to him from sandra bullock. but we finally figured it out:

9. we went over to the smith's house for a meeting about the russia trip. those boys are going to have a lot of fun, i can tell :) we played loaded questions and i got to play with kelty & teagan :)
10. we watched only you before bed last night! love that movie. if you haven't seen it, come borrow it from me.

I finished reading The Host yesterday. It was pretty good, actually. Cheesy, yet strangely addicting... like her other books! I'm a sucker for happy endings and I was worried that this wouldn't end the way I wanted it to... but I was pleasantly surprised :) I give it three out of five stars.

best bday ever.

...i woke up to my fancy camera first thing in the morning :)
...sean took me to breakfast.
...my desk was decorated with balloons, streamers & a sign when i came into the office. and flowers came later!
...my nieces called me and sang happy birthday over the phone.
...erika stopped by the office to wish me a happy bday.
...the dagleys gave me the cute lunch pail & cards that i put on this list forever ago!
...we had yummy birthday cheesecake at work.
...my momma made fondue. yum! and heather made lemon bars. double yum!
...i never thought i would ask for and be excited to get a cake plate or a tea jar... but i did... and i WAS :)
...i received lots birthday wishes by way of text message, email, phone calls, blog posts, flowers, cards, etc.
...we had birthday cake with lyn, shannon, steph, kelty & teagan.
...it was nice & sunny & warm most of the day.
...i got spoiled rotten by all of my family & friends. thanks to sean, heather, annette, mom & dad, lyn & paul, shannon, stephanie & fam, jaimie, erika & arbinger for the fun gifts!
...my birthday week isn't even over yet! this weekend we're headed to st. george for a little get-away before sean leaves to russian & italy next tuesday.
...i feel like a very lucky girl to have such wonderful friends & family. love you all!
