good monday

1. it was a surprisingly stress-free day at work.
2. i ate some cadbury eggs (yum!).
3. i wore my cute new pants!
4. sean visited me at lunch.
5. i made some yummy shrimp for dinner.
6. i saw my cute sister-in-law jaimie for about 5 minutes {she was up here from Las Vegas}!
7. i found a song for the choir to perform on Easter sunday.
8. i finally changed my email address to have my MARRIED name in it.
9. i got the smith's happenings newsletter!
10. i get to clean my house tonight {i really do like to clean}.

weekend

We had lots of fun this weekend with friends & family. On Friday, we had Kess & Ryan and Erika & her friend Kyle over for games & movies. We played Imaginiff... which we bought like a year ago and hadn't played until this weekend. It was pretty fun! And we watched The Saint... which was really cheesy in my opinion. It was so fun to play with my friends. I hadn't seen Erika in a long time & I love that girl! And we love the Cunliffes even though they kicked our trash on the challenges.

Saturday I woke up early {not out of the ordinary} and went to my parents house to sing some new music with Heather. Just for fun. And then we went shopping at the Gateway. I wasn't planning on buying anything... and ended up leaving with 2 pairs of pants & a new shirt :) Poor Sean... he puts up with a lot from me :) I have decided that if I was loaded, I would buy everything from Zgallerie & Urban Outfitters. But for now I will settle for Forever 21 and Target :)

Church was fun/stressful on Sunday! I get super nervous to stand in front of people to do anything and I led the music in Sacrament & said the prayer in R.S. It's good for me to get over the nervousness though! And I really am willing to help whenever I can {I swear, Tara!}. I had choir after church at the Gibsons. I'm starting to not care that I don't know what I'm doing! It's just fun to be there with people who come because they want to sing. I'm glad that people come at all! And very happy to be working with Jen, who plays beautifully! After choir, we went to my parents house to play & eat dinner. My mama made the most delicious Meditteranean Chicken. I need to get the recipe. The whole family minus Annette was there & it was fun hanging out. After we left my parents, we went over to Katie & Stephenson's house for games. We had a blast! It was fun getting to know more people from the ward. And I was introduced to Rock Band... which is super fun! Especially when I'm playing the guitar & not singing :) Thanks, Katie!

And now back to work!

flashback

Back in October Sean & I went to California with Sean's parents to help with a golf tournament that the Forever Young foundation was hosting. I was just thinking about this trip this morning. And suddenly I remembered something I never should have forgotten! One of our jobs as volunteers was to drive mini-coopers from the dealership to the golf course They were giving away 3 mini-coopers on one hole if anyone got a hole in one. We had to take a few trips back and forth because only 2 of us knew how to drive a manual transmission. We had flown in late in the day and headed straight to the car dealership... so we were hungry. On one of our trips back & forth, we stopped at a restaurant called Hobee's. It was kind of a random choice, but we didn't know the area and we weren't in the mood to go searching for something else. It is kind of a health food restaurant. Everything on the menu is low-fat, whole grain, etc. The food wasn't that great. And for some reason it took a VERY long time to get the food out to us. They offered us all free dessert because it took so long. We weren't too excited to try the dessert when we weren't all that crazy about the food. But the waitress was so apologetic and she kept offering... so finally I said I would have a piece of blueberry coffee cake {their specialty}. It was by FAR the BEST thing I have ever tasted! And I'm not exaggerating. I would seriously drive back there and find that restaurant off of some random freeway exit JUST for the coffee cake. It was better than any other dessert I've ever had! And any other coffee cake! Man I wish I was having some for breakfast... Anyway. Now I have this documented so I'll never forget the name of that restaurant!
